So I had scheduled to do this a few days ago, but I decided being one of the sport’s Most Eligible Bachelor’s was enough praise for awhile. Then I planned on doing it today, and he gets praised for having one of the coolest pictures in the sport, taken at Mardi Gras Cup. But you know what, fuck it, the praise is deserved… today’s player to fear is Brad Armentor of Louisiana State University.

Brad said this week that he thinks the lack of features on LSU players is because they work as a very unified team where every player is equally trained, utilized and valued. This is true. If you’ve seen them play at any of the Cups or seen them play outside of Cups (where their record is nearly perfect) you can see just how amazing they are. But Brad is an important member of the team and even without the support of his teammates, is a standout and impressive Chaser.

Players that have some size behind them often think that that’s enough and they can just mindlessly charge down the field… it works for some, but more often than not, cockiness in the Quidditch can lead to tragedy. Whilst Brad is aware of his skill, you can observe from his gameplay that he’s always thinking about all the available options and ready to seize the best opportunities. He’s a definite leader, and he knows how to delegate responsibilities well - he uses his skilled teammates wisely. And again, he’s got the size that makes taking him down difficult, but he’s also got enough speed to make him hard to make contact with in the first place. He’s proficient at blocking bludgers and his passes and shots are very accurate. And even if he’s a softie at heart, his hits show no mercy. 

WEAKNESS: The opposite gender and Gossip Girl. Just kidding. Speed. He’s a fast player, but he’s not as light-footed as Chasers with track or soccer experience. Frequent juking will keep him from being able to make the hard hits that are his forte.
